Antique chair re-upholstery
Traditional re-upholstery for period chairs, sofas and stools, using proper materials and methods suited to the age of the piece.
What we arrange
- Drop-in seats on dining and side chairs
- Stuff-over seats
- Buttoned backs
- Full re-upholstery on chairs, sofas and stools
Traditional methods
Period furniture should be upholstered with materials and techniques suited to its age, such as webbing, springs and natural fillings, rather than modern foam. It sits better, lasts longer and doesn’t harm the frame.
Frames first
Re-upholstery is the right moment to deal with loose joints or a damaged frame. We’ll check the frame and repair it in our workshop before the new upholstery goes on.
Send photos of the chair
Include the frame and the underside of the seat if you can.
